Have any of y'all ever had any trouble with your MySpace account?

By trouble, I mean, have you been harrassed or solicited via email? How easy is it for someone to gain access to your My Space account? When it says you can set it to private, is it really private? I was thinking about getting one and I just wanted some feedback from people who use it.

Myspace is a great way to meet new people with similar interests. I have benefited greatly from it. Yes, when you set it on private, it really is private. Also, a trick not many people know, if you set your age to 14, only your friends that you choose to see you can see you - which means wackos or other pervs won't be able to find you. Myspace has set it up so that if you don't like someone you can block them from viewing your page. You can also report any emails or profiles to the Myspace support team. It is not easy for people to gain access to your account unless you give them the password you use.

you can set most of the setting for people only approved by you to see it. It is a commercial site and somehow im sure they can get to you but its not bad. Ive been on it a year and dont have these settings turned on and i barely ever have a problem like that

I've used myspace for a very long time. The only emails you get are notifications of things such as new comments, friend's birthdays, and messages.

The ease of accessing your myspace account depends on the security of your password. To be safe, you should always have a combination of both letters, capital and non capital, numbers, and irregular non-alphanumeric symbols, such as a question mark.

Overall it's safer than most websites, it would be a disaster if it was insecure, considering it's currently in the top 10 most popular websites in the world.

kepp your age under 18 and set it to private mode, and you're about as safe as you can be on myspace. the site has lots of glitches, but almost none of them allow strangers into your myspace account/info... i don't think that's ever happened. if you're going to have a myspace, use all the security you can get to keep it between you and your friends only.

setting it to private means that only people that you accept as friends can view your profile. good luck! ;]
