There should be NO problems if your account is private.

Just make sure you have CAPTCHAs enabled under Account Settings to stop all the spam-bots from contacting you.

to be a friend of yours on MySpace.

Yes, you can make your profile private. To do so:-

-Click 'Account Settings'

- Then the 'Privacy' tab

- Then check the option for 'Profile Viewable By' with 'Friends Only'.

Myspace is safe as long as you don't give out personal information like home addresses and phone numbers to strangers. Also, make sure when signing into your account, make sure the url is correct to avoid phishing scams. Official Myspace log-in site is always http://www.myspace.com/.

There's nothing truely safe on the internet, but yes you can make it private. Go to edit profile. Then go to privacy or security (can't remember), and it'll ask if you want everyone to see it, people under 18, or just your friends.
