okay so i asked a question on here about how i should ask my parents. and i did. i asked my mom, she seemed sort of okay with it, as long as she could see it every once and a while. but she said shed have to talk to my dad about it. so she (i wasnt in the room) and she said he said no and i explained to hima nd hes like give me one good reason you want one and i said all my friends have it and i realy want it becuase it looks fun. (lol not a very good one) and he slike, i want you to go back upstairs to your mother and make her make the desicion, she always leaves it up to me.
how can i get my dad to say yes? i went over everything, private stuff, no real info, and all that jazz

let your dad help you create the site in the beginning or let him see some of your friends pages to see what its about....tell him to get one too and you will make him your friend....thats what i did with my girls....that means that i can access their page through mine to be sure they are being cautious about what they say and who they are saying it to....i dont check often.....just an unannounced pop in every once in a while for security....besides...that will let him know you have nothing to hide and are not being deceitful about it

first of all you have to convince your self why you should have one, it seems that you cant convince your self either (you do not do something for others but for your self) then you can convince your father too :-)

lol. your dad is right about you not allowing to have one. if i had a daughter/son i wouldn't allow him/her to have one either. myspace is a dangerous network. sure your friends all have one and stuff, but have you ever thought about how dangerous that network is? i don't think you have. myspace is the site with the most sexual predators. i had one before too, but it was only for a month, i had a lot of predators after me on that site and many of them wanted to meet up with me. luckily, i didn't give my information out. you say that you won't be giving information out to strangers now, but when the person is good looking, you will be giving it out because you know that its not that easy for parents to find out. but have you ever thought about that, the stranger's pictures maybe pictures taken from someone else's site. there are so many profiles on myspace, how could you really find out who it really is? if you really want to have one of those things, maybe you should try using facebook instead. facebook is a lot safer and more parents approve. i don't use myspace, but i do use facebook. its a lot safer than myspace. its just a word of advice, so please think about the dangerousness of myspace and your dad's answer.

by the way setting your profile to private isn't always safe either. you are still at risk. your profile isn't really private even though you set it to private. its the internet, once its out there you can't take it off for sure. and creepers know how to hack into private profiles.
